After the awesome hit that was The Lego Movie, Warner Brothers has announced the dates for two new Lego movies.
In this world that is increasingly being built by sequels, this should be no surprise, but after the fresh twist on our favorite childhood toys, the next two films should be something to keep an eye out for.
The second installment in The Lego Movie saga will debut May 26, 2017. The film will be directed by Chris McKay, with Phil Lord and Chris Miller to produce. Miller and Lord directed the first film, so hopefully the second will be just as imaginative as the first.
The third film in the trilogy is speculated to be released on May 24, 2019.
In other Lego-related news, WB has also scheduled for September 23, 2016 to be the opening date for its Lego Ninjago feature film, which will be directed by Charlie Bean, who has worked for years in the television animation industry. If this film goes well, a Ninjago sequel will be released in 2018.
