Watch: The First Teaser for 'Sing'

A 2016 animated film with a city inhabited by animals wearing clothes… Zootopia, right? Wrong (but our Zootopia review is coming soon): Illumination Entertainment released a teaser for Sing, a musical comedy directed by Garth Jennings that will arrive on December in theaters. Illumination Entertainment Unveils A-List Cast for Their Second 2016 Film ‘SING’

The film – written and directed by Garth Jennings (Hitchhikers’ Guide to the Galaxy, Son of Rambow) – stars Matthew McConaughey as Buster Moon, described as a “dapper koala who runs a once-great theater that has fallen on hard times. Seeing the thing he loves most in his life coming to ruin, Buster connives to restore the theater’s fortunes by producing the world’s greatest singing competition.”

Illumination Entertainment had a sizable presence at this year’s Annecy Film Festival. Its upcoming filmMinions received an early showing, while Chris Meledandri (Founder and CEO of Illumination Entertainment) was there to conduct a keynote speech/Q&A about his company, his values, and where he thinks the future of the animation industry will go (all before he became the first recipient of Variety and MIFA’s Animation Personality of the Year award). Hidden within that Q&A were a few chunks of information concerning a couple future films to come from Illumination. So, let’s look at these first.
