Disney, Marvel and Pixar solidified their upcoming movie slates for the next few years, setting release dates for 19 different feature films
Disney set two release dates for 2018, with Gigantic opening on March 9, 2018 and Untitled Disney set for November 21, 2018, both of which don't have any direct competitors as of yet. and Untitled Disney Animation (November 25, 2020)
Finally Pixar's release date announcements start with Cars 3, which has moved into the June 16, 2017 release slot previously occupied by Toy Story 4, which has shifted to June 15, 2018.
Cars 3 currently doesn't have any direct competition thus far, but it opens one week before Paramount's World War Z 2 and a week after Warner Bros.' Wonder Woman.
Also hitting theaters in 2017 is Coco on November 22. This is the first movie to be slated for the Thanksgiving 2017 holiday thus far, but it opens one week after Warner Bros.' Justice League Part 1 and Universal's Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas.
Pixar also handed out a June 21, 2019 release for The Incredibles 2, along with an untitled Pixar Animation movie on March 13, 2020 and a second untitled Pixar Animation movie on June 19, 2020.
While The Incredibles 2 and another Untitled Pixar Animation film don't have any direct competition in their new dates, the second untitled Pixar movie will be going up against Warner Bros.' Green Lantern Corps. It's worth noting that the June 19, 2020 date would be exactly five years after Inside Out hit theaters, so it's possible that a follow-up could be in the works, especially after Inside Out's box office success ($353.8 million domestic, $792.2 million worldwide).
