Even though it didn't even get nominated for an Oscar, The Lego Movie was easily one of the best animated film of 2014, if not one of the best films period. The official sequel, titled The Lego Movie Sequel, is headed to theaters in about three years, but a new director sits in the captain's chair.
Screen Rant recently tweeted the news that the The Lego Movie Sequel will be directed by Rob Schrab longtime TV comedy director who’s worked on shows like The Sarah Silverman Program and Community. Schrab replaces The Lego Movie co-writers/directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller who are also responsible for the recent 21 Jump Street revival. While Lord and Miller won't be returning to direct, the duo will be writing the sequel and plan to include more female central characters and pick up the story four years in the future.
